- Archived and deleted items are not migrated
- Creation log will be reset to the time we create the item in monday
- Last update will be reset to the update time in the new account
- The Activity Log is not migrated (Actions). Trello’s API allows for parsing boards/cards activity, but we can’t copy this data to monday’s activity log.
- If that data is required we can export them to be kept by the client – or bring them in monday in another way (such as in updates). That would need to be agreed upon separately and will be treated as a separate project at an added cost.
- Comments/Updates can’t be assigned to the original creator. The comment content will be included as text, and each update will have the writer’s name as text.
- Trello Assignment notifications to users are lost. Notifications in monday should be set up by the client or as an implementation project.
- Automations (power-ups) are not migrated. We can create a list of power-ups, so that the
client can configure them on monday (thespelas.com has great expertise in implementing workflows, processes and automations in monday, but that is not included in the migration project). - Due to mapping constraints, we recommend aligning with your current monday build on
migration preference for Lists and Checklists. We have observed that a 3rd nested layer leads to communication and organization problems in teams, so let’s discuss on a case by case basis. - We will need monday’s Enterprise plan available (SCIM, API limit).
- Personal User Settings will need to be initialized in monday by each user
- Collaborators – guests from Trello can be moved over as monday Guests (assuming shareable board inside monday and people outside the company’s domain)
- In order to migrate all boards, their owners will need to promote us to owners before the
agreed-upon migration Start date.
○ Organization boards are migrated as Main boards in monday
○ Private boards are migrated as Private boards in monday
○ Workspace boards can be migrated in separate workspaces in monday (must discuss requirement during migration planning)
○ Public boards are also migrated as Main boards in monday (you will need to re-share them with the broader internet by broadcasting them. This is not done as part of the migration) - Users should not make any changes after the set date of the migration commencement, and any changes will not be carried over. (for very large accounts, we can facilitate a multi-step migration, we will need to plan so in advance)
- Updates are transferred as plain text during the migration. The creator is added as plain text, but the creation date is lost. The order of the comments (updates) is correct.
- If there is no SSO, every user will need to initialize their password.
- Integrations will not be transferred. If you need any special integrations set up, please consult us for an individual project to discuss approach (native, iPaaS, code, …)
- Apps/API/Emails are not transferred. This means that they must be set up again in the new account. It is also necessary to plan in advance for the need of said apps and plan for integrations. This should be done as part of the monday Solution Architecture, before the migration, or can be rebuilt as needed at a later date. thespelas.com will happily support you in evaluating your options,but that would be a separate project (it is not included in the migration project).
- The IDs of everything created in monday including workspaces, boards, items, users, etc. will be new – and no longer the same. If you are using external tools in Trello (Make, Zapier, Custom Apps, code, …) you will need to get in touch with the person that maintains them to establish a path of action.
